Brecon and Radnor Politicians James Evans MS and Fay Jones MP have repeated calls for the Welsh Air Ambulance to remain at its current base in Welshpool. Joining Montgomeryshire colleagues Russell George MS and Craig Williams MP Powy's politicians have urged for the community to have their say. The final engagement stage on its future has now begun running until February 29th.
Leading the final campaign Russell George MS has provided a detailed report how to fill in the final engagement.
James Evans MS said:
“It is imperative that we keep as many of our emergency response services as possible. I do not want to see patients in Mid Wales put at a disadvantage, and I am strongly opposing the plans to close the Welshpool Air Ambulance base.
“I have heard of many examples where the Air Ambulance has been called out in agricultural accidents. In rural areas where our road network is poor, the Air Ambulance is the difference between life and death.
