James Evans MS has spoken out against Welsh Labout and Plaid proposals to increase the size of the Senedd.
Welsh Labour and their coalition partners Plaid Cymru have cooked up a backroom deal to expand the Senedd, costing hard pressed tax payers millions of pounds a year.
The deal would see 36 new Senedd Members, ballooning the size of the Senedd to 96 members. More politicians at Cardiff Bay would take limited resources away from frontline services at a time when 1 in 5 citizens are on an NHS waiting list.
James Evans MS;
“At a time when bills are soaring and families are facing large increases to their Council Tax, the last thing we need are more politicians. Labour and Plaid Cymru are again demonstrating how out of touch with the public they are.
The people of Brecon and Radnorshire don’t want more Senedd Members, they want politicians to get on with the job and not focus on creating more jobs for the Cardiff Bay bubble.
We have thousands of parish and town councillors, over a thousand paid County Councillors in Wales. 40 MPs and 60 MSs. The idea we need more politicians is nonsense.
Politicians should be working together to support families with cost of living challenges, cutting the NHS waiting list backlog and giving businesses a boost following the pandemic”
