UK environment secretary Michael Gove has enjoyed a walk around the Royal Welsh Showground on the opening day of the event.
The high-profile Tory was joined by Secretary of State for Wales Alun Cairns as they met leaders of the National Farmers’ Union Cymru at its base before touring the stands.
They joined Brecon and Radnorshire MP Chris Davies in the main ring to view the horses. The Conservative MP is also director of horses for the show.
Chris Davies MP said:
"It was a real pleasure to welcome the Environment Secretary Michael Gove and Alun Cairns to the Royal Welsh Show today. They met with various organisations and groups at the show and I look forward to them attending in years to come".
