According to the Chinese Zodiac, 2024 is the Year of the Dragon, ushering in a time for renewal, inspiration and innovation. I think we should all embrace this sentiment so let us make 2024 the Year of the Welsh Dragon!
We all have the power to shape our destinies and our futures. Innovation is all around us, with developments in AI and technology changing the way we work and live. It is vitally important that your voices are heard loud and clear so that you can shape your own future.
There are many key proposals and developments in the coming months that will shape this area and our communities. The Welsh Government’s proposals for Council Tax Reforms and the proposals for Senedd expansion from its current 60 members to 96 members. We will see Phase 3 consultation on whether we retain an Air Ambulance base in Welshpool which serves Brecon & Radnorshire. There will be further consultations on proposed Energy Parks in Nant Mithel, Aberedw and Bryn Gilwern. New consultations on local issues like parking, leisure centres and many more.
All these will impact your lives and your communities. It is vitally important that your voice is heard so that all concerns can be addressed. So, if you make a resolution for 2024, make it that your voice is heard as loud as a dragon and take the time to fill in that online consultation, write that letter, contact your Councillor or your Senedd Members (all 5 of us) that represent this area or your Member of Parliament. My voice in the Welsh Parliament is stronger when combined with your voices, and, hopefully, together we can shape a better future for our area and for our communities and make sure we are strong and resilient for the future.
